Terms & Privacy — Thumpdeck

Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what's necessary to run the app. We don't sell your data. Your presentation content is used solely to generate your deck and is never used to train AI models. You can delete your account and all data at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aethelon Labs LLC ("we", "us", "Thumpdeck") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Thumpdeck mobile application ("the App").

How we use your information

Generate your presentations — your prompt is sent to Anthropic's Claude API and returned as structured slide data
Store and sync your decks — so you can access them across devices when signed in
Process payments — subscription status managed by RevenueCat/Apple/Google
Fix bugs — anonymized crash logs help us reproduce and resolve issues
Improve the product — aggregate, anonymized usage events (no PII)

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

Third-party services

Thumpdeck integrates with the following services. Each has its own privacy policy.

Anthropic (Claude AI) AI generation — your prompts are sent to Claude. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models.

Supabase Authentication — stores email and session tokens in encrypted US-based infrastructure.

RevenueCat Subscription management — handles purchase validation with Apple/Google.

PostHog Product analytics — anonymized, self-hosted-compatible event tracking. No cross-site tracking.

Pexels / Unsplash Stock photos — image searches are made server-side; your query is sent to fetch relevant images.

Apple / Google App distribution and in-app purchases. Governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies.

AI and your content

When you generate a presentation, your prompt is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic's API Terms of Service explicitly state that API inputs and outputs are not used to train AI models.

Your generated decks belong to you. We do not read, use, or repurpose your presentation content for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.

AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content before sharing or relying on it.

Data retention

Presentation data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Authentication data: Retained by Supabase until you delete your account.
Crash logs: Automatically purged after 90 days, capped at 32KB per device session.
Analytics events: Anonymized; retained for 12 months.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Deletion — delete your account and all associated data in Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us
Correction — update your email address in Settings → Account
Portability — export your presentations as .pptx, .pdf, or PNG from within the app
Opt-out of analytics — email privacy@thumpdeck.com to opt out of analytics collection at any time

For GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) requests, email privacy@thumpdeck.com. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies & local storage

Thumpdeck is a mobile app and does not use browser cookies. The app uses device-local storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore for secure values; SharedPreferences for non-sensitive user preferences such as selected theme and draft prompts). This local storage:

Never leaves your device unless you are signed in and sync is active
Is not shared with advertisers or third-party trackers
Can be cleared by uninstalling the app

The share viewer at thumpdeck.com/s/… does not set cookies. It fetches deck data once per page load using your share token.

Children's privacy

Thumpdeck is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Terms of Service

Short version: Use Thumpdeck fairly, pay for what you use, and don't use it to create harmful content. Your presentations are yours. We provide the service as-is with no guarantees about AI accuracy.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Aethelon Labs LLC ("Thumpdeck", "we", "us") governing your use of the Thumpdeck mobile application.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The service

Thumpdeck is an AI-powered presentation maker. You provide a prompt and the app generates a slide deck using large language models. Features include:

AI presentation generation and slide editing
Export to .pptx, PDF, and image formats
Google Slides export (Pro)
Brand Kit (Pro)
Shareable presentation links

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time. For material changes to paid features, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via in-app notification or email.

Your account

An account is optional — you may use Thumpdeck without signing in, with decks stored locally on your device. If you create an account:

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure
You must provide a valid email address
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU)
You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Billing & subscriptions

Free tier

Thumpdeck offers a free tier with a limited number of AI-generated presentations per month. Exact limits are shown in the app and may change.

Thumpdeck Pro

Thumpdeck Pro is an auto-renewing subscription (In-App Purchase) that unlocks unlimited generations and additional features.

Pricing: Displayed at time of purchase in your local currency before you confirm
Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Renewal price: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price
Cancellation: Cancel anytime in your device's subscription settings — Apple: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; Google Play: Play Store → Subscriptions → Thumpdeck. Access continues until the billing period ends
Free tier: Thumpdeck offers a free tier with full core functionality. A subscription is not required to use the app

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). Refund requests are handled by Apple and Google respectively under their standard policies. We have no direct control over refund decisions. Contact reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play support for refund requests.

Price changes

We will notify you of price changes before they take effect. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

Your content & intellectual property

Your content belongs to you

Presentations you create using Thumpdeck — including the prompts you enter and the slides generated from them — belong to you. We claim no ownership over your content.

License to us

By using the service, you grant Aethelon Labs a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Our intellectual property

The Thumpdeck brand, app design, code, and all non-user-generated content are owned by Aethelon Labs LLC and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App itself.

AI-generated content

The legal status of AI-generated content varies by jurisdiction. You are responsible for ensuring any AI-generated presentations comply with applicable laws before sharing or publishing them commercially.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Thumpdeck to create, share, or distribute presentations that:

Contain illegal content or facilitate illegal activities
Are defamatory, harassing, or constitute hate speech
Infringe third-party intellectual property rights
Contain spam, phishing, or deceptive material
Contain sexually explicit content involving minors
Intentionally spread medical or scientific misinformation

You agree not to:

Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the App's source code
Abuse the API to circumvent usage limits
Automate requests in ways that strain our infrastructure
Resell or sublicense the App or its outputs as a competing service

Violations may result in immediate account termination.

Disclaimer of warranties

Thumpdeck is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose
The service will meet your specific requirements

AI-generated presentations may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies. Always review AI-generated content before relying on it for professional, legal, medical, or financial decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aethelon Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
Showing an in-app notice for significant changes

Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
